Plastic Film Products

Quoin has developed a proprietary pouch-making machine that it used to manufacture the patented Q-paq™, pressure pouch used in the Party Pig^® beer package (see www.partypig.com).  This machine uses plastic film to form a three-layer multi-compartment pouch.  The compartments are defined by frangible seams that keep chemicals (that are subsequently placed in the compartments) separated.  The chemicals will only mix when a peal seam is breached.

Quoin's Q-paq™, self-pressurization technology is available for use with other products and/or systems where a self contained, self-pressurizing system is required.  The practical economic limitations of the technology make it best suited to 1-10 gallon systems.  The operating pressure range can also be adjusted to meet the specific needs of the product to be dispensed with a practical range of about 5-100psi. We are confident that we can work with potential applications to adapt this core technology to work with any flowable product.

The Quoin patented frangible seam technology is also available for other applications.  This technology can, potentially, be used for applications where a single pouch must contain multiple products which need to remain separated until such time as their mixing, inside the pouch, is required.

Quoin developmental and manufacturing expertise is also available to develop and/or manufacture specialty plastic pouches.  Our current production machine is limited to two or three layers of plastic film and a maximum size of 19” X 20”.  However, larger and/or more complicated pouches can be produced in small quantities and with investments in tooling, in larger quantities.
